5th grade students in “industrial arts” are using TInkercad.com to create 3-d parts (nose cones, and wings) for their straw rockets that will be 3-d printed, assembled, and then launched from an air powered launcher.
7th and 8th grade students in “industrial arts” are assembling lego mindstorm robot parts to create Battlebot robots. They will code a program for the robot to follow while it competes in a balloon popping challenge.
7th and 8th grade students in “structural engineering” are building marble roller coasters from paper and tape. They are measuring the length of their coaster, and the amount it time it takes for a marble to complete the track, and using that data to calculate the average speed.
